Yuen Shih Kai after the overthrow of the Manchurians the

third, and now we are again in a new stage of terror. For

several decades, we have been afraid of losing our country.

Though at present we are working for the salvation of our

country, we have not done anything reconstructive. Formerly we were exploited for the use of the Emperor, and later for

the Emperor's Clansmen, the militarists and the corrupt and

avaricous officials. Now ambitious youths and weak

propertyless classes are used as tools. These are the

wicked methods of the Communists. The Russian Communists

have made China their tool, and have caused disturbances in

China. How then can we realize the object of our National

Revolution? We must understand the objects of our Revolut-

ion, and that we shall never succeed unless we begin our

work on the basis of Socialism. There are now two parties

the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. The principles of our Kuomintang are those of Sun Chung Shan, i.e. the "Three Aspects of Democracy" introduced by our President after many years' hard work; they are themselves Socialism. Communists also advocate Socialism. But the Communism

advocated by the Kuomintang is a Republican one, and that by the Communists a despotic one. We must understand the two kinds of Revolution, viz. the National and the World, before

we can tell which of the two Parties is the better.

National Revolution is the Revolution of all our masses to

secure their freedom and to remove their grievances, and no despotism or oppression is practised by it. In our Revolution we seek the freedom of our race, and the

independence of China without prejudice to our race and Nation. A revolution under Communism will as a result
